In another attempt to incorporate healthy crap into my diet, I’ve been bringing Green Smoothies to work for lunch.  By the way, “healthy crap” is an affectionate term that Joe coined when I cook things that aren’t fried or covered in a cream sauce and are designed to keep him from having a heart attack before  the age of 35.  Anyway, back to the smoothies.  A green smoothie is essentially a fruit smoothie with some sort of greens in it (spinach, kale, swiss get the point).  It looks gross but is actually pretty good.  The key is to put just enough greens in to make it healthier but not so much that all you taste is liquid salad.  (For more info in green smoothies, check out the book, Green for Life by Victoria Boutenko)

Today, though, the blender salad mush just wasn’t cutting it.  So, naturally, on my way home I stop at the store to pick up some veggies to go with dinner and throw a mini box of Whitman’s chocolates into my basket for a “light” snack.  The box was opened before I pulled out of the parking lot and those 4 glorious chocolates became just an empty box before I was even halfway home.  This is normal , right?   People eat salad for lunch then go out for ice cream an hour later, don’t they?  Not that I’ve ever done that, I’m just asking….  Do the greens negate the chocolate?   I think they do.   My pants don’t, but I think they’re lying!

Hello to all of you out there in cyberspace that have taken the time out of your day to read my words. This blog will cover the gamut of topics – life, family, business, career choices, motivational quotes, etc. Whatever strikes me on a given day. Why “Mediocre”? Well, I’ve always thought of myself as average – average height, average weight, average intelligence. Not too bad, but far from great – hovering right about mediocre. I’ve always envisioned more but never quite got there. I’m much better at helping others to be more than I am at pushing myself. Now, I’m 32 years old, I still have no idea what I want to be when I grow up but I know that it has to be something great. No pressure, right? So, here’s to all of you out there who want more. Maybe we can help push each other along. I welcome your comments. Please, let’s all be great together.  Thanks for reading.
